Job overview and Responsibility

Senior Software Engineer will be part of a fast-growing team of engineers to support infrastructure and deployment projects for a German client. You will work within an Agile SCRUM methodology to build, maintain, and optimize our cloud environments.

This project enables companies to seamlessly integrate insurance into their offerings. Thanks to diverse interfaces, insurance solutions can be quickly and easily integrated into the product landscapes of companies. Through the platform, all administrative processes from closing to claims processing are automated, and personal service is directly available to partners and customers. With individual, cloud-based insurance solutions, this project provides the product that suits every company.

Responsibilities:
Core Engineering: Design and develop secure, well-tested features across a TypeScript/Node.js backend and React frontend.
Infrastructure & APIs: Contribute to the API-first infrastructure, supporting seamless insurance product integrations.
AI Integration: Build and deploy AI-powered features using Claude and Gemini, ranging from intelligent claims automation to LLM-assisted operations tooling.
Agentic Workflows: Design and implement multi-step, LLM-orchestrated processes that automate manual tasks across claims, support, and partner onboarding.
System Maintenance: Collaborate across the full stack using PostgreSQL, Redis, DocumentDB, Kafka, and AWS environments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Platform Engineering, Finance, and Operations to turn business requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions.
Quality & Compliance: Drive technical improvements in quality, performance, and security, ensuring all solutions meet regulatory standards (BaFin, DORA, EU compliance) including AI-specific safeguards.

Must-Haves:

  • 5+ years as a Software Engineer, with a focus on high-quality code.
  • Very strong command of TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) with a track record of production-level implementation.
  • Solid understanding of DDD, SOLID principles, and modern system design.
  • Hands-on experience with databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, DocumentDB) and AWS environments with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience writing unit, integration, and contract tests.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of bridging technical and product discussions.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with React.
  • Experience with event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka).
  • Experience in fintech, insurance technology, payments, or banking integrations.
  • Experience working with foreign companies, in particular Australia/Germany.
