Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack JavaScript Developer to join our high-growth, bootstrapped B2B SaaS company. You’ll be responsible for designing and developing new features from scratch for our suite of profitable products.

We need someone who is passionate, autonomous, and loves technical challenges that directly impact our customers’ success.

This is about building new things. If you prefer maintaining existing code over creating innovative solutions, this might not be for you.

Feature Development & Innovation

• Design and develop new features from scratch, both frontend and backend
• Drive technical excellence within your squad, setting high standards
• Build scalable solutions that can handle rapid user and data growth
• Make architectural decisions that impact product direction

Technical Leadership

• Step into technical lead role within your squad
• Mentor and train fellow developers, enhancing team competency
• Facilitate knowledge sharing across engineering teams
• Champion best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment

Product Impact

• Work on multiple projects simultaneously with strong prioritization skills
• Collaborate with product teams to turn ideas into technical reality
• Optimize existing systems through refactoring and performance improvements

Full Ownership

• Own your projects end-to-end – from conception to deployment
• Make independent technical decisions with minimal oversight

Tech Stack & Environment

Core Technologies:

• JavaScript/Node.js – our primary backend language
• MongoDB – our main database for scalable data storage
• Modern Frontend – React, Vue.js, or similar frameworks
• Cloud Infrastructure – AWS/GCP for deployment and scaling
• API Design – RESTful services and potential GraphQL

Development Environment:

• Agile methodologies with sprint planning and retrospectives
• Remote-first tools – Gather, Slack, Notion for collaboration
• CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
• Modern development practices – code reviews, automated testing

What You’ll Work On:

Requirements

Must-Have:

Technical Excellence:

• 5+ years JavaScript expertise with deep understanding of the ecosystem
• Proven track record building and maintaining web applications at scale
• Strong Node.js and MongoDB skills with production experience
• Fullstack capabilities – comfortable with both frontend and backend development

• B2B SaaS startup experience – understanding of subscription business models

• Open source contributions or technical blog writing
• Experience with MongoDB optimization and performance tuning
• Frontend framework expertise (React, Vue.js, Angular)
• DevOps knowledge – CI/CD, containerization, cloud deployment

Success Roadmap

First 3 Months:

• Complete onboarding and integrate smoothly with the team
• Deep understanding of our B2B SaaS products and technical architecture
• First contributions to new features and codebase improvements
• Establish relationships with product, design, and customer success teams

First 12 Months:

• Lead development of multiple successful projects from conception to launch
• Significant technical contributions to product optimization and scalability
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering culture
• Drive innovation in both technical approach and product features  

Interview Process

1. Technical Screening (45 min)

• JavaScript/Node.js technical discussion
• MongoDB and database design questions
• Problem-solving and system design thinking

2. Practical Assessment (90 min)

• Build a small fullstack feature with our tech stack
• Code review and architectural discussion
• Demonstration of best practices

3. Cultural Fit Interview (60 min)

• Meet with engineering leadership and product team
• Discuss collaboration style and growth aspirations
• Q&A about company culture and remote work

4. Final Interview (30 min)

• Meet with company leadership
• Alignment on vision, values, and long-term goals
• Compensation and benefits discussion
