Senior Backend Developer (Golang)

• Design, architect, and own highly reliable and scalable backend systems end-to-end, from initial design through production monitoring.
• Translate complex product requirements into clear technical solutions and actionable development plans.
• Lead system design discussions and drive architectural decisions for critical services.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and unit tests.
• Actively participate in technical discussions, challenge assumptions, and demonstrate a commitment to innovative problem-solving.
• Identify and eliminate systemic bottlenecks — propose platform-level improvements, not just feature- level fixes.
• Introduce innovative ideas and recommend integration of latest technologies to enhance team practices and software performance.
• Maintain frequent and clear communication with peer developers, team leads, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Required skills and experiences

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Golang in production environments.
• 7–12+ years of overall software engineering experience, with a demonstrable track record of building and scaling backend systems at high traffic.
• Proven experience in system design at scale: distributed systems, data pipelines, or platform infrastructure serving hundreds of thousands of users or more.
• Fluent in English (working daily with Tech Lead in Finland)
• Experience building or maintaining observability/monitoring infrastructure (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana or equivalent).
• Deep knowledge of relational databases and strong command of SQL.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and container runtimes, coupled with solid experience with Kubernetes in production.
• Solid experience with AWS or equivalent cloud service providers (Azure, GCP), including infrastructure provisioning via Terraform or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Git or equivalent distributed version control systems.
• Demonstrated experience applying modern software development principles (SOLID, design patterns, testing methodologies).
• Familiarity with AI code assistants and intelligent developer tools; ability to critically evaluate AI- generated suggestions without blind acceptance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and take strong ownership, delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.

Preferred skills and experiences

• Prior experience at a high-growth tech company
• Experience integrating AI/LLM tooling into backend workflows (e.g., LangChain, DSPy, MLFlow or equivalent).
• Experience with data engineering tools: Airflow, PySpark, Kafka, or similar pipeline frameworks.
• Experience in Front-End or Full-Stack development and understanding of the full application lifecycle.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfortable and proficient with shell scripting.
